Why a general billing app is not enough for used phones
A new phone comes with a supplier's invoice. A used phone comes from a customer across the counter, and the risk sits in that moment. A general billing app records the sale; a second-hand shop also needs to know who sold the phone, whether its IMEI shows up in stolen-device records, and what it paid for that exact handset so the margin can be taxed correctly.
What Mobile Praman does
- IMEI check before you pay, against our stolen-device records. A match stops the deal at the counter; no match is not a clearance.
- Who sold it to you: seller details, a declaration and Aadhaar e-Sign in one flow.
- Who you sold it to: the sale is recorded against the same IMEI; several phones can go in one bill.
- The phone's history: stock by IMEI, with a grade from A to F and every movement in your shop.
- Proof you can show: the purchase record carries a QR your customer can scan to see which checks were run, and a Section 63 certificate (PDF) can be made from it if questions come later.
